Directv Goes LEED Platinum

EL SEGUNDO, CA—The TV provider completes renovations of its 299,000-square-foot headquarters to achieve green building standards, including the installation of Energy Star appliances and LED lighting.

EL SEGUNDO, CA—Directv has completed green renovations to its 299,000-square-foot headquarter building at located at 2260 E. Imperial Hwy. in El Segundo, CA. The green renovations have earned the building a LEED Platinum certification for interior design and construction and a LEED Silver certification for the building’s core and shell.

“Achieving LEED Platinum certification demonstrates our commitment to conserve energy and reduce waste from our operations, as well as our commitment to communities where we live and work,” says Mike White, Directv chairman, president and CEO. “This certification reinforces our goal to reduce the carbon footprint of our US operations by 5% by 2015, compared to our 2011 baseline.” The company did not reposnd to a request for additional comment before the publication of this story.
