PLAYA VISTA, CA—KB Homes has unveiled two new for-sale residential communities in Playa Vista. The first is Asher with 36 detached, single-family homes, and the second is the Skylar, a 93-unit condominium complex. According to the developer, the two new communities offer the last few remaining opportunities to buy a new home in the highly sought-after submarket.

The Asher is a luxury community with three-story homes, each equipped with an elevator. Architect Barry Berkus designed the homes, which range in size from 2,435 to 2,757 square feet and offer up to five bedrooms, with a modern style, open floor plans and ample outdoor space. The Skylar's 93 units range in size from 1,905 to 2,449 square feet and have up to four bedrooms. They feature a similar luxury quality with large living spaces, private garages and EV charging stations. The community residents will have a range of onsite amenities as well, including a 26,000-square-foot community center with a pool, spa and gym. 

This is not KB Home's first venture in Playa Vista. The developer built LEED Platinum-certified Primera Terra neighborhood to great success, selling all of the properties in 2012. KB Homes was unavailable to comment about the new developments before the publication of this story.

Playa Vista has a growing demand for residential properties due to the influx of tech companies, and therefore tech jobs, moving to the area. IMAX, for example, broke ground on a 66,000-square-foot office building earlier this year. The new office will relocate 120 employees from the company's Santa Monica offices.
