ATLANTA—The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority has hired New York City-based Greystone Management Solutions as a consultant to develop and implement a retail concessions program for the system.

Greystone Management, a division of Greystone & Co., Inc. will help the agency manage the expansion of its concessions program and will utilize its experience and knowledge of best practices to assist MARTA with site selection and product mix to develop a request for bids to attract leading public transit retailers to participate in MARTA's new program.

MARTA provides bus, rail and para-transit service for approximately 500,000 passengers each weekday, has been serving the City of Atlanta, and Fulton and DeKalb Counties for the past 35 years.

"We are pleased to be working with MARTA to help introduce a concessions program that will capture new non fare box revenue for the agency and improve passenger amenities for MARTA's customers," says Charles Di Maggio, COO of Greystone Management Solutions. "We are very appreciative of the agency's trust to partner with Greystone on this exciting opportunity. Throughout the public transit industry, we are seeing more and more public agencies retain the expertise of the private sector to help manage their real estate, maximize non fare box revenue, and optimize their real estate portfolios, all while improving the station environments for customers.”
