LOS ANGELES—Law firm Hunton & Williams has expanded its commercial real estate practice to the West Coast in the firm's already established Los Angeles office, and has hired Robert M. Johnson as a partner.

According to Howard E. Schreiber, Hunton & William's co-head of global real estate practice, California is the best destination to grow the firm's national practice. The firm's real estate practice has 75 attorneys throughout the country, and advises clients in every sector of the commercial real estate space: industrial, retail, office, multifamily, and so on.

Johnson joins the firm from Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where he served as a partner. He is an expert in commercial real estate development and finance, and has represented owners and investors throughout the Western region. Christopher Hasbrouck will also join the firm from Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and will work alongside Johnson in the Los Angeles office as an associate. Johnson did not respond to a request for a comment.

The firm is expanding throughout the country. In July, GlobeSt.com exclusively reported that the firm hired Jerome Dano and Valerie Kitay as attorneys in the firm's industry branch in New York City. The two attorneys joined the firm from Thacher Profitt & Wood and Goodwin Procter.
