LOS ANGELES—Regency Centers completes construction of the $21 million Juanita Tate Marketplace, a 77,096-square-foot outdoor shopping center designed by Nadel Architects. The property has three buildings with two anchor tenants, Northgate Market and CVS/pharmacy, which collectively lease 57,076 square feet.
According to Regency Centers regional officer and VP of investments John Mehigan, Nadel designed the property to be both attractive and functional for the long term. The property has three buildings; the larger, 45,500-square-foot building is occupied in full by Northgate Market, while the smaller 14,576-square-foot building is occupied by CVS/pharmacy. The remaining 20,000-square-foot building has space for up to 12 tenants, currently occupied by seven national and regional tenants. Mehigan explains that the unique design and the high-traffic location help to attract the tenants.
The property broke ground in October of last year. Northgate Market, CVS, Starbucks and Panda Express had already signed lease agreements at the center prior to the ground breaking. The finished center emphasizes walkability and has unique, artistic details, like metal awnings and brick, tile and plaster walls. It also features an art installation by Heath Satow of three 25-foot-tall metal dandelions.
