PHILADELPHIA, PAULI Philadelphia, the tri-state District Council of the global non-profit Urban Land Institute, has appointed Jay Appleton as sponsorship chair, Megan Leinart as membership chair and Thomas Smithgall as regional satellites chair. ULI Philadelphia District Council chair Christopher M. Hager PE made the appointments.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jay, Megan and Tom to their new leadership positions. The strength of ULI Philadelphia is directly related to the commitment of our members and leadership teams. Jay, Megan and Tom will be tremendous assets in helping us expand capacity, particularly with regard to ULI Philadelphia hosting the ULI Global Spring Meeting in 2016,” says Hager.

As sponsorship chair, Jay Appleton PE will develop and implement goals and plans to retain existing sponsors and recruit new sponsors. Appleton recently joined Wu & Associates, based in Cherry Hill, NJ as senior project manager.

As membership chair, Megan Leinart will develop and implement goals and plans to retain and increase the membership base. Leinart is currently director of corporate development at Timothy Haahs & Associates, Inc., Blue Bell, PA, where she leads the firm's marketing and business development strategy.

As Regional Satellites Chair, Thomas Smithgall will communicate with and serve as a mentor to the co-chairs of all satellites in the Lehigh Valley, Central Pennsylvania, South Jersey and Delaware regions. As senior vice president of development at High Real Estate Group, Lancaster, PA, Smithgall leads the firm's development function and oversees the growth and management of the expanding development services market.
