SANTA CLARA, CA—Irvine Company Office Properties says accomplished real estate executive Todd Hedrick has joined as regional vice president of leasing for the company's expanding portfolio of office workplaces in Northern California.

Hedrick brings nearly 25 years of experience in Bay Area real estate and joins the Irvine Company most recently from Equity Office Properties, where he served as senior vice president of leasing responsible for 10 million square feet of office and research and development workspace. Prior to Equity, Hedrick served in senior leasing and portfolio management positions with CarrAmerica and Legacy Partners.

“There are few in the Bay Area who know better than Todd what employers are looking for in an office workplace,” said Steve Case, executive vice president of Irvine Company Office Properties. “He will be an outstanding representative of the unique workplace communities we provide to the region's leading companies.”

Including projects under way, the Irvine Company's Bay Area workplace portfolio now totals more than 5 million square feet with plans for additional expansion. Since 2011, the Irvine Company has more than doubled its Silicon Valley portfolio with acquisitions and the recent completion of Santa Clara Gateway.

A 911,000-square-foot office campus with views of Levi's Stadium and a workplace community vibrancy, Santa Clara Gateway has attracted leading technology companies Dell, GlobalFoundries, Arista Networks and Square.

Hedrick will oversee Bay Area workplace leasing and help to support the growth of the Irvine Company's regional office portfolio. He will lead leasing for Santa Clara Square, a 1.5 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art office campus being built by the Irvine Company at Great America and the 101 freeway.

Designed by renowned architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Santa Clara Square is being built in phases with occupancy starting in 2015.

The Irvine Company is currently building a 410,000-square-foot campus for global networking company Ericsson on the west side of Santa Clara Square. Ericsson, one the world's top providers of technology and services for telecommunications, mobile and television networks, selected Santa Clara Square to unite its rapidly expanding Silicon Valley workforce in an environment that inspires employees and customers. Ericsson is set to bring about 2,000 employees to Santa Clara Square in 2016.

Along with an amenity-rich office campus setting, Santa Clara Square features a 125,000-square-foot specialty shopping center that is set to open in early 2016 with a gourmet grocery store, upscale restaurants and shops and services.

“What attracted me to the Irvine Company is the comprehensive, master-planning approach it brings to the Bay Area,” Hedrick said. “You see that in the progressive workspace and high-quality office community being built at Santa Clara Square. This really addresses a need among Bay Area companies for workplaces that attract employees and keep them engaged.”

Hedrick, who has a bachelor's in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, is one of several recent additions to the Irvine Company's Northern California office properties team. He will work closely with Hanns Lee, another Bay Area real estate veteran who joined in March as regional senior vice president.

The expanded team also includes Ben Yu, who joined in May as senior director of acquisitions and development, and Evan Schwimmer, who was added as senior director of investments and development in August.

“The expansion of the Irvine Company's Northern California office team is part of our long-term commitment to the Bay Area, where we have operated for nearly 20 years,” Lee said. “The experience and expertise of our Northern California team will help our customers achieve long-term business success with exceptional workplaces and outstanding customer service.”
