LOS ANGELES—Bryan Crane has joined Clarion Partners as director of acquisitions on the West Coast. Crane will be based in the firm's Los Angeles office and co-head the group with director Dean Rostovsky.
Crane brings more than a decade of experience to Clarion Partners. Prior to joining the firm, Crane served as a principal at Artemis Real Estate Partners. But, his impressive resume includes stretches as director of acquisitions at Rockwood Capital, VP at J.P. Morgan and VP at Lehman Brothers. He has a Bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Virginia and a Master's degree in business administration, finance and real estate from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Bryan Crane did not respond to a request for comment prior to the publication of this story.
In addition to Crane's lofty resume, he also lends his industry expertise to educational conferences and seminars. Earlier this year, he joined several other industry leaders to speak at ULI Orange County/Inland Empire's “The Money Chase” conference. Comparing this year and last year's markets, Crane said, “A year ago, we were buying notes, but by and large, that has been played out and those opportunities are fewer and farther between. We're back to fundamentals and looking for ways to create value. The momentum in investing is largely done. We're out of distressed and into value-add.”
