LOS ANGELES—The International Council of Shopping Centers has partnered with USC Lusk Center for Real Estate to bring the University of Shopping Centers to the West Coast for the first time. Open to industry executives, from c-suite to entry-level professionals, the educational event will take place on USC's campus October 14-16.
In the past, the event has only been held at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. The retail educational event gives those already working in the industry a high level of retail knowledge. Attendees will be able to take as many courses as they wish over the three-day educational event.
USC's top educators will develop the curriculum for the 28 unique classes, while top-level industry leaders, each with 20 or more years of experience, will lead the courses. These leaders are exerts in the urban development, leasing, housing market demographics and investing, and are uniquely qualified to lead the seminars. The event also includes discussions and keynote speeches that will ensure the issues affecting all retail types are covered. These special sessions include a Q&A with Arthur M. Coppola, chairman and CEO of Macerich, moderated by USC Lusk Center chairman Stan Ross.
In addition to University of Shopping Centers, ICSC also holds conferences about the retail industry throughout the country. In an earlier story, GlobeSt.com reported that Passco Cos.' VP Alan Clifton was named ICSC western divisional operations chair, who talked to GlobeSt.com about his new role and the western retail market.
