LONG BEACH, CA—A joint venture between DL Horn & Associates LLC, Affordable IV LLC and PC Long Beach Developers LLC has unveiled Ramona Park Senior Apartments, a 61-unit senior affordable housing development in Long Beach, CA. WNC funded the project with $6.9 million in low-income housing tax credit equity.

Located at 3290 E. Artesia Blvd., the property is available to seniors 55 years old and older who are living at 60% or less of the average annual income. It has one three-story building with a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, and it has ground floor parking. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen with appliances, including an oven, refrigerator, garbage disposal and dishwasher. Additionally, units feature central air and heating, a patio or balcony and window blinds

There originally was a vacant bank on the development site, which was demolished prior to construction. Developers designed the property with an array of amenities for the tenants to use. Tenants will have access to community gathering areas, including a swimming pool, outdoor fireplaces, a community room and library. The property also has service amenities, like a laundry facility and business center.

Affordable housing for seniors is in high demand in the Long Beach submarket. Also adding to the supply, Meta Housing Corp. and Path Ventures broke ground on a high quality, LEED-Silver certified apartment complex in May that will target low-income senior citizens.
