FORT WORTH--Woodmont Outlets, a division of The Woodmont Co., is bring upscale retail to Tulsa.

The Fort Worth-based company is partnering with Cherokee Nation Businesses for the shopping development at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

“We approached [Cherokee Nation Businesses] because of the world-class amenities of the casino and resort, proximity to key markets and the two million people that already visit Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa every year,” said Stephen Coslik, Woodmont Outlets chairman.

According to reps for the company, Cherokee Nation has agreed to lease property west of the casino to Woodmont, which plans to build Cherokee Outlets. Woodmont will invest $80 million into the project, which will create approximately 1,000 permanent jobs as well as other jobs during the construction phase.

Woodmont's goal for the development is to garner $120 million in annual sales and to attract two million additional visitors to the area per year.

“In addition to the Tulsa metro and surrounding areas, it's an easy drive from key markets like northwest Arkansas and Joplin [Missouri]. I'm confident we can attract the premium retailers to make this development the best in the region,” Coslik said.

The project is expected to be delivered in late 2016.
