Part 1 of 2

SAN FRANCISCO—GlobeSt.com recently reported that Sedgwick LLP had added Paula S. Crow as a partner to the real estate and finance practice in its San Francisco office. Joining from Lubin Olson & Niewiadomski LLP, Crow focuses on commercial real estate transactions and represents major publicly held companies in leasing and purchase and sales matters, including the tenant on the second largest commercial lease in San Francisco last year.

In an update to that article, we chatted with Crow about her thoughts and forecasts on the local market. She tells GlobeSt.com that the San Francisco commercial real estate market continues to be extremely strong and there are no apparent dark clouds on the horizon from a demand standpoint.

“The market is tech driven but this brings growth, as well, to a variety of professional and other business service industries such as law, finance, advertising and marketing and recruiting,” she says. “The area is home to many maturing but still robust and capital rich 20- and even 30-year old successful tech companies. Not far behind these are the next tech generation which has even greater capital resources and whose companies are in an even more rapid growth phase.”

Finally, she says, there is a good pipeline of start-ups who, for the most part, still find Silicon Valley and, increasingly, San Francisco the best place to be to ensure success.

Check back in the next day or so for Part 2 of this interview, where Crow talks about tech employees, the biggest risk to this continued growth, and the housing crisis.
