STAMFORD, Conn.--Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has announced plans for its Aloft brand to debut in El Paso. Owned by Bassett Partners EP and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, Aloft El Paso Downtown is scheduled to open in July 2016, and will feature 100 loft-like rooms.

“Aloft is a great match for the dynamic city of El Paso and will appeal to the next generation of travelers with its urban design, live music at the W XYZ bar, and unbeatable location at the heart of downtown,” said Brian McGuinness, senior vice president, specialty select brands for Starwood. “The enthusiasm of travelers worldwide is fueling the Aloft brand's rapid growth as it approaches the 100th hotel milestone.”

Aloft El Paso Downtown will be centrally located near numerous restaurants, bars and shops, and the University of Texas at El Paso. Less than 15 minutes from El Paso International Airport, the hotel will provide access to attractions such as El Paso Museum of Art, El Paso Performing Arts Center, Western Playland Amusement Park and Plaza Theatre. Hotel amenities will include an indoor pool, W XYZ bar, 24-hour fitness center and 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, ideal for both business meetings and social gatherings.

“We look forward to adding El Paso to our growing list of destinations for the popular Aloft brand,” said Allison Reid, senior vice president of North America development for Starwood. “Aloft's great momentum and soaring popularity among guests is fueling owner and developer interest in bringing the brand to new markets across North America.”
