Although Bojangles' is a private company, there is great demand for their free-standing stores as net lease investments. Bojangles' typically features a 3,000 - 3,800 +/- SF building, and are usually situated on .8 - 1.20 acre of land. Bojangles' net leases properties provide a long-term investment with no property management responsibilities. Generally the lease term is 15-20 years NNN with 2-4 five year options with increases of 7-10% every 5 years. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based chain expects to open 55 to 60 locations throughout the Southeast this year, adding new restaurants in more than 25 market areas, including Atlanta, Georgia; Birmingham, Alabama; Orlando, Florida; Richmond, Virginia; and Nashville, Knoxville, and Tri-Cities, Tennessee.
Today there are over 600 Bojangles' across 11 states, the District of Columbia and three international locations. Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. opened its 600th location of Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits in July 2014, a milestone toward the company's goal of reaching 1,000 units by 2020 and $1 billion in annual system-wide sales it projects to hit by the end of third quarter of this year. The Charlotte, NC-based brand expects to add 55 to 60 locations this year in more than 25 markets. Bojangles' is compated to its larger competitors such as Chick-fil-A, KFC, Popeyes and Zaxby's. As Bojangles' continues to grow, its focus will remain on building market share and increasing consumer awareness of its brand.
