LOS ANGELES—It’s official: InterContinental will be the hotel operator at Korean Air‘s $1.1 billion Wilshire Grand development in Downtown Los Angeles. The highly anticipated news came yesterday when the Wilshire Grand team signed the final contract with the luxury hotel operator at a press conference. The hotel will open in early 2017.

The InterContinental hotel will occupy the majority of the 73-story, 1,100-foot tower, which will become the largest building on the West Coast once complete. Additionally, the 900-room hotel will be the largest InterContinental hotel in the Americas, and the first InterContinental hotel brand in Downtown Los Angeles in 15 years.
