Baton Rouge, La.--Building upon the success of its upscale apartment communities, The Domain Cos. will begin construction of The Addison next month. Construction is expected to be completed one year from now, and the building will feature 139 apartments and 7,500 square feet of retail space.

In addition, the company has announced that its High Grove development has reached 100 percent residential occupancy. The property, with its 192 apartments and 25,000 square feet of retail space, was Domain's first in Baton Rouge.

“The amenities available at The High Grove are already at the top of the market, and The Addison will follow suit,” says Emily Etland, Louisiana regional manager of Domain, to GlobeSt.com. “Both properties incorporate innovative green design features, and like The High Grove, The Addison will provide residents with resort-style amenity areas, fully-outfitted lounges and fitness centers, unique unit layouts, and access to the extensive MyDomain suite of resident services.”

Since its delivery in October 2013, The High Grove has offered a superior location, product, and amenities/services package; the property was awarded LEED Silver Certification in March, making it the first luxury apartment community in Baton Rouge to achieve such status.

The High Grove is the first development within The Grove, located across from the Mall of Louisiana just off of Interstate 10, in the heart of Baton Rouge's premier commercial corridor. The Grove will include a mix of residential, retail and commercial uses, with over 44 acres of the 118-acre site dedicated to parks, pathways and creekside landscaping.

The Addison is designed in the Mediterranean revival style, inspired by resort and residential properties commonly found throughout the Gulf Coast. The property takes its name from Addison Mizner, the architect responsible for popularizing the style in the 1920s. The Addison will consist of a main four-story structure with 109 apartments and 30 townhomes. The unit layouts and finishes are designed to position The Addison at the top of the Baton Rouge market, with floor plans based on the most popular layouts at The High Grove. Like The High Grove, The Addison will seek to maximize sustainable and green design features wherever possible.

The Addison's retail tenants will be on par with The High Grove's, which currently houses The Woodhouse Day Spa and Open Barre fitness center. The Addison's unique cafes, full-service restaurants, and high-end boutiques will aim to create an upscale environment that provides both a shopping destination and convenience retail for the development's residents.

“The High Grove has raised the bar for luxury apartment living in Baton Rouge,” says Matt Schwartz, co-founder of Domain. “We'll further that success with The Addison, which will once again set a new standard with a fresh and exciting design and even more unique services and amenities.”
