SYLMAR, CA—Tutor Perini Building Corp., an affiliate of Tutor Perini Corp. has been awarded a contract to expand the Chumash Casino Resort by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The project is valued at $112 million.

The project includes the development of a 215-room hotel, a gaming room and a 20,000-square-foot pool deck as well as a parking garage. It also includes construction of new food and beverage venues. Construction will begin in October of this year and is scheduled for delivery sometime in 2016. The company did not respond to a request for comment.

Tutor Perini has a 12-year relationship as a builder for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. In addition to working with Native American tribes on development projects, Tutor Perini has also worked on such iconic projects as the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT, Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park, CA, and Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA. Most recently, the construction company was awarded $319 million in contracts for projects in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
