AUSTIN, Tex.--Austin-based fast casual restaurant VERTSKEBAP, also known as VERTS, has big plans for Dallas: The company is opening three stores in the area by the end of the year.
“The Dallas-area locations are strategically located near well-established residential areas and daytime populations that target the fast casual market,” Michael Meaden, of CBRE, told GlobeSt.com. “The co-tenancy in each location will drive traffic to the new stores and create a great launching point for VERTSKEBAP in the Dallas area.”
John Heffington, with CBRE in Austin, is the master broker for VERTSKEBAP; Meaden and Andrew Wiley provided local representation in Dallas.
The locations will be at Preston Hollow Village (the northwest corner of Central Expressway and Walnut Hill Lane), Addison (5100 Belt Line Rd.) and Lewisville (outside Vista Ridge Mall).
The concept is built around the döner kebap, a beloved German street food, and VERTS is one of the first companies to bring the authentic delicacy to the U.S. VERTS reps tell GlobeSt.com that a kebap is like “a panini…filled with vertically roasted meats, topped with fresh vegetables and finished off with yogurt-based sauces.” The restaurant also offers wraps and salads.
Already in 2014, VERTS opened three new Austin locations and expanded into Houston with six locations. The company will continue Texas expansions in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio in 2015.
“Our plan is to establish the VERTSKEBAP brand and our unique food all over Texas. Dallas is next on our list to fulfill that goal,” says Dominik Stein, VERTSKEBAP co-founder. “Dallas is not only a huge and attractive market for us, it is also one of the most vibrant and upbeat cities in the U.S. It is the place to be for modern food concepts. If we can be successful in Dallas, we can grow our concept in other parts of the U.S.”
