NEWARK, NJ—ShopRite officials say that a total of up to 300 full- and part-time jobs will be created once the new ShopRite opens next year at the Springfield Avenue Marketplace.
The grocer is making preparations for opening the 67,000-square-foot store in the spring of 2015 and has partnered with the New Community Workforce Development Center to launch a job training program, according to NJ.com. The training program for up to 200 potential workers, will begin in November.
The job seekers will receive classroom teaching and hands-on lessons at a New Community training facility at 201 Bergen St. The facility will be equipped to look like an actual ShopRite, according to a statement released by the agency.
“Being trained and ready to work is a crucial step in helping residents to secure jobs and become self-sufficient,” New Community Corporation CEO Richard Rohrman says. See story at NJ.com.
