NEW YORK CITY—Cushman & Wakefield has hired uber-retail expert Laura Pomerantz as vice chairman and head of strategic accounts. She brings along five professionals from her eponymous firm, including longstanding associates, Betty Ende and Ilyssa Schwartzberg, GlobeSt.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY. Pomerantz, who most recently served as principal and founding partner of Laura Pomerantz Real Estate and also toils in the office space, is C&W's first new vice chairman in two decades.

Pomerantz will lead the newly formed strategic accounts group and will be responsible for growing relationships at the firm. Judging by her client roster, she is likely to be a shot in the arm for Cushman.

“Over the years, Laura has been a trustworthy and responsible real estate advisor both personally and professionally to Bloomberg, L.P. and me,” says former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “Her experience and professionalism combined with Cushman & Wakefield's international platform, should prove to be a formidable association.”

“Laura is one of the most influential and accomplished business executives in our industry with an enviable track record,” says Ed Forst, president & CEO, Cushman & Wakefield. “She has unique leadership experience, having inspired transformational work across office and retail. Her world-class network of relationships throughout the commercial real estate sector and the Client Only belief she shares with our firm make Laura the ideal executive to lead our Strategic Accounts team. ”

“Given the global outreach of Cushman & Wakefield in all aspects of real estate services and its highly respected position globally, I feel that this is a fantastic opportunity for me to best augment my experience and skills,” adds Pomerantz. “There's no doubt in my mind that Cushman & Wakefield represents the best of the best in the industry, with an impressive roster of clients and flawless execution of some of the most high-profile retail and office transactions in New York, the US and around the world.”

With nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience, Pomerantz has completed more than 8 million square feet of office and retail assignments for clients including Bloomberg L.P., Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Hudson's Bay Company, Josie Natori, Tory Burch and Stuart Weitzman. Prior to establishing Laura Pomerantz Real Estate, Pomerantz was principal and co-founder of PBS Real Estate and PBS/Gould Ventures. She also served as a senior managing director at Newmark & Co.
