FORT WORTH–Trademark Property Co., in partnership with Sarofim Realty Advisors, has closed on the acquisition of 63 acres of infill land located on the Trinity River in southwest Fort Worth, which will be home to Waterside, a 400,000-square-foot-plus mixed-use development. The first phase of construction will begin on Monday, Oct. 20. Trademark purchased the land from Bryant Irvin Recreation Complex (CERA), formerly Lockheed Martin Recreation Association, which owned 81 acres at the location.

The project will include Fort Worth's first Whole Foods Market, a 45,000-square-foot edition that will offer a large outdoor seating area, among other features that will be tailored to Waterside. Trademark reps tell GlobeSt.com that additional retail tenants will be announced in the next two to three weeks.

The project also will feature 375 high-end, multifamily rental homes built by Transwestern Development Co. In total, Waterside will include 200,000 square feet of retail space and riverside restaurants, 20 acres of residential, 200,000 square feet of office space and a signature hotel. Phase I is slated to open spring 2016.
