NEW YORK CITY—Savills Studley has named a new head of its NYC regional office, hiring an executive from within the company. The commercial real estate services firm has promoted Stephen Berliner from EVP & branch manager, New York office to EVP, New York tri-state region.
Berliner joined Savills Studley in 2006 and has more than 30 years of CRE experience. He has advised numerous organizations and companies in their commercial real estate strategies, while working as a broker coach and mentor to Savills Studley professionals of all levels within the Manhattan office.
The appointment comes just five short months after Savills and Studley announced plans to merge, expanding both companies to create a global firm. Now that the two entities are working together, it seems, the combined company appears ready to expand its presence here.
Says Mitchell S. Steir, Savills Studley CEO, “Steve has done an excellent job managing the growth of our New York office over the last eight years. He is a consummate real estate professional and is highly respected both within the company as well as throughout the industry. As Savills Studley continues to grow our tenant representation business in the New York tri-state markets, we are thrilled to have Steve's unwavering support.”
In his new role, Berliner will continue to manage the New York office and oversee the development of both senior and junior level brokers, lead recruiting efforts throughout the tri-state region, and maintain P&L responsibility.
“Across the region, our brokers define the top tier of consultative real estate professionals,” Berliner states. “I see a tremendous opportunity to continue to develop the tenant representation model and look forward to working collaboratively with the exemplary broker teams in the region.”
