SACRAMENTO—“Commercial real estate is relationship-driven: The stronger your relationships are with customers and peers, the more successful a business will be.” That is according to Real Estate Forum Women of Influence candidate Amy Lerseth, SVP of asset management and real estate services at the Buzz Oates Group of Cos.

“Women bring an intuitive sensibility about relationships to the industry and are more adept at navigating difficult situations,” she says. “Women, by nature, are often nurturers and place great value on cultivating relationships where the outcome for both parties is natural communication and collaboration.”

Confrontation can be tempered by a woman's rational problem-solving, she adds. “Aggressive deal-making can be achieved by a woman's tendency toward win-win solutions. Women have an ability to listen to a customer's concerns and work alongside them to create a resolution, rather than promote their own objectives or agendas.”
