HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ—Construction has begun on Albertson Village, a new 82-unit luxury apartment-rental project being developed by Walters Group. The community is in the Westmont section of Haddon Township in Camden County.
Site improvements got underway earlier this year on Albertson Village, which is being built to LEED-certified levels. The residential project is rising on the site of the former Russell Cast Stone cement factory. Located on West Albertson Ave. just off Haddon Ave., the property sat vacant for more than 10 years. The Walters Group, owner of the property, is using environmentally friendly “green” technologies in the construction of the new buildings. When completed, Albertson Village will offer one- and two-bedroom residences, with optional loft spaces and upgraded interiors. In addition, the project will include an affordable component consisting of eight units.
“We are pleased to be moving forward on this project. After sitting idle for many years, this parcel of land was in need of redevelopment,” says Ed Walters, Jr., founder and partner of Walters Group.
Comprised of four three-story buildings, the community will be situated in landscaped open spaces with paved pathways so residents can easily walk to a community clubhouse with a 24-hour fitness center. Other amenities include Energy Star appliances, granite kitchen countertops and elevators in each building. Parking garages will be available for residents.
