TUCSON—Barbi Reuter has been elected to the Commercial Real Estate Women network board of directors, she is the first from Tucson to serve on the board. CREW is the industry's leading advocate for the advancement of women in commercial real estate. Reuter and the four other incoming members of the board will officially take office in January 2015 and will hold their terms for two years.
As a CREW network director, Reuter will be a part of the team that oversees the direction and policies, and sets the priorities for the CREW Network. Directors also travel to chapters during the year to make presentations to the membership and meet with local chapter leaders.
“I'm very excited about this position,” Reuter tells GlobeSt.com. “This means fundraising for our national support system. Each board member is a liaison to several chapters and helps to educate with resources and initiatives; we promote and encourage leadership and CREW involvement.”
Reuter says in between annual conventions, leadership summits are held in which training and leadership development are the focus. MIT is a partner in CREW's leadership certificate program currently being developed, adds Reuter.
Reuter is chief operating officer with Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR, Tucson's leading full-service commercial real estate services firm. Reuter's affiliation with Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR began with the firm's opening in 1985, becoming a principal in 1992. Named COO in 2014, she oversees C&W | PICOR operations, research, finance and marketing/social media activities, and serves as associate broker. She writes and presents on social media applications for commercial real estate and edits PICOR Connect, the firm's commercial real estate blog. Reuter founded the firm's property management division, taking it to the lead in market share and directed the Division until 2007 managing office, medical, industrial and retail space. She has also served as court-appointed receiver in both county and federal courts.
