MINNEAPOLIS—Cassidy Turley has just decided to promote both senior vice president Mark Sims and managing director Brian Woolsey to managing principals and asked them to lead the firm's Twin Cities operations.

The duo takes the helm at a time when the economy in the Twin Cities has started to outperform most of the other cities in the US, and this vibrancy has buoyed the local real estate markets. As reported in GlobeSt.com, for example, the industrial, multifamily and office markets were restored to health soon after the recession ended, and investors have been lining up to buy these properties.

Sims and Woolsey will work under the same player/coach model successfully used by the firm in other Midwest offices such as Kansas City and Columbus. Both will continue to provide a full spectrum of commercial real estate services to clients.

“Mark's experience in the industrial sector and Brian's background in the office sector – combined with their extensive knowledge of Cassidy Turley and its platform – provide the best opportunity to continue to grow these service lines,” says executive managing director Dean Mueller. “In addition, their tenure with our firm will provide continuity going forward. I look forward to working with them as we continue to grow and thrive in Minneapolis.”

“We are bullish on the Minneapolis market,” Mueller adds. “We believe that this 'boots-on-the-ground' approach will help us recruit and develop talent as well as have an understanding of when to best utilize company resources.”

Sims specializes in industrial sales and leasing and has more than 22 years of experience in the Twin Cities. Over the course of his career, he has completed transactions totaling more than 20-million-square-feet. He focuses on new business development, landlord and tenant representation and investment and owner/occupier sales. Sims is a past president and board member of the Organization of Commercial Realtors.

Woolsey specializes in office sales and leasing and has more than 11 years of experience here. He focuses on landlord and tenant representation and currently leads a six-person team responsible for strategic planning, portfolio administration, transaction management and project management services. Company officials say Woolsey has been their top producing broker in Minnesota for three years.
