New $125M Hotel Planned for Downtown Philly

PHILADELPHIA—New York City-based Morgans Hotel Group Co. has plans to build a $125-million hotel at 17th and Chancellor streets in Center City.

PHILADELPHIA—New York City-based Morgans Hotel Group Co. has plans to build a $125-million hotel at 17th and Chancellor streets in Center City.

The hotelier is proposing to build a 300-room hotel that will carry its Hudson hotel flag. The development site currently features a parking garage. Little Pete’s diner, a floral shop and nail salon are within the garage space. The plan calls for tearing down the garage and replacing it with two stories of retail, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
