HOUSTON-- Savills Studley recently represented Blank Rome LLP in negotiating its long-term lease of 27,144 square feet on the 14th floor of 717 Texas Avenue. The law firm currently occupies space on the 40th and 41st floors of 700 Louisiana St. Blank Rome, which will expand its footprint by nearly 6,000 square feet, plans to relocate in February.

“Remaining in the northwestern quadrant of downtown was priority one for Blank Rome,” Kevin Hodges, senior managing director at Savills Studley, told GlobeSt.com. “Considering we ended up two blocks north of our current location, we hit that target spot on.”

Hodges represented Blank Rome in the transaction, and his colleague Ed Bowerman acted as the project management consultant on the build-out of the space. Michael Anderson of Colvill Office Properties represented the landlord, Block 59 Limited Partnership.

“The decision to relocate to 717 Texas Avenue is a smart move for Blank Rome in Houston,” says Hodges. “We were able to increase the size of the firm's current square footage by 25 percent, but more than double the current number of attorney offices.”

He adds that Blank and Rome increased in-building parking by sevenfold.

According to Blank Rome's Houston administrative partner Barry Abrams, the upcoming move demonstrates the firm's long-term commitment to fulfill the needs of its clients in the Texas legal market.
