NEW YORK CITY–Cushman & Wakefield has scored a major coupe, hiring Colliers International's former tri-state region COO. Industry veteran Joseph Caridi will serve as a senior managing director at C&W. He and Colliers came to a mutual agreement that it was time to part ways, an executive of the firm tells GlobeSt.com.

“As Colliers continues to expand in New York it was a mutually agreeable time for us and Joe to look in a new direction on the management team," says Joe Harbert, president, Colliers International eastern region. "We thank Joe for his contributions and wish him well.”

At Cushman, Caridi will be responsible for driving growth, recruiting and executing strategic initiatives for the region and report to Ron Lo Russo, president, New York tri-state region.

Caridi managed the day-to-day operations of Colliers as COO, overseeing the production and revenue components of the business, including brokerage, consulting services, project management, human resources and information technology. In addition, he was primarily responsible for recruiting and growth initiatives in the region, strategically enhancing the overall talent and capabilities of the firm.

As a liaison to the corporate accounting team, he worked in conjunction with tri-state and corporate employees to closely monitor, manage and formally report on the firm's operating budgets, revenue forecasting and financials.

With more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, Caridi has served as executive director for Newmark Knight Frank as part of the firm's New Jersey operations. In 2006, he was promoted to executive director of brokerage and advisory services in the New York tri-state region and was responsible for overseeing Newmark's recruiting, growth initiatives and development of the firm's junior and mid-level professionals. Prior to joining Newmark, he served as SVP/co-managing director at Reckson Associates Realty Corp.

“Joe brings a rich knowledge of commercial real estate experience to Cushman & Wakefield and he's a very well respected individual in the industry,” says Lo Russo. “He brings with him the leadership necessary to continue making C&W the preferred place to work and the best platform for delivering the highest quality services to our clients.”

Adds Caridi, “Cushman & Wakefield represents a strong, global brand that resonates in the marketplace, with some of the best professionals in the industry, and I'm really excited about the opportunity to work alongside Ron and the tri-state management team in achieving new heights for the region.”

“As Colliers continues to expand in New York it was a mutually agreeable time for us and Joe to look in a new direction on the management team," says Joe Harbert, president, Colliers International eastern region. "We thank Joe for his contributions and wish him well.”
