SAN FRANCISCO—HUD veteran Matt Naish has joined Berkeley Point Capital LLC as director, affordable housing finance. He will operate out of the firm's newly-established, San Francisco office, developing strategic partnerships and providing borrowers with the company's wide spectrum of multifamily products and innovative capital solutions. The firm says the hiring is part of its commitment to the expansion of its affordable housing business.

During his tenure at HUD, Naish held a variety of positions. Most recently he was senior advisor to the deputy assistant secretary for multifamily housing programs, leading teams in the development and implementation of a variety of national policy, programmatic and reorganization initiatives. His experience includes expertise in the preservation of affordable housing, FHA multifamily product lines, asset and risk management, process improvement, and organizational development.

Prior to his role as senior advisor, Naish served as the director of project management for the San Francisco multifamily hub, heading up business lines in affordable housing preservation, asset and risk management, and operations in the southwest region and and Hawaii, encumbering a portfolio of 3,000 FHA insured and/or subsidized properties.
