NEW YORK CITY–Cushman & Wakefield has hired Douglas Regal, a commercial real estate professional with more than a decade of experience in the industry, as a director. He joins the firm from ABS Partners Real Estate, where he served as exclusive leasing agent for approximately 500,000 square feet of office space throughout Manhattan.

Regal specializes in both landlord and tenant representation and has been involved in over 750,000 square feet of leasing transactions in Manhattan.

“We are very pleased to welcome a talented and dedicated brokerage professional like Douglas, who brings with him leadership skills and experience working with both tenants and landlords to the firm,” says Ron Lo Russo, president, New York tri-state region. “I look forward to working with him.”

While at ABS, Regal represented Varonis Systems in a 46,000 square foot lease renewal and expansion at 1250 Broadway, the Flatiron School in a 12,000 square foot lease expansion in Lower Manhattan and Artsy in a 10,500 square foot lease renewal and expansion at 401 Broadway. On the landlord representation side, Regal played a leadership role in the repositioning of both 1001 Avenue of the Americas and 401 Broadway.

Cushman & Wakefield continues to expand its mid-level talent. Last month the firm hired Joseph Caridi, former COO of Colliers International, to serve as a senior managing director and a key member of the firm's tri-state management team. He will be responsible for driving growth, recruiting and executing strategic initiatives for the region.
