HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--GBT Realty Corp., a retail development company headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn., has announced the expansion of Strong Station, a 180,000-square-foot neighborhood center currently home to Academy Sports + Outdoors in Huntsville, at the intersection of US Highway 72 and Nance Road. Nearly 96 percent leased, the $16-million Phase II adds 95,000 square feet of retail on nine acres to the east of the existing sporting goods store.

"The West Huntsville area already has a solid mix of retail services and our tenants at Strong Station will further add to those amenities with the opening of Sprouts [Farmers Market] as well as many other small shops that will complement the upscale grocery store," Jeff Pape, managing director-shopping center division of GBT Realty Corp., told GlobeSt.com.

In addition to Sprouts, Phase II of Strong Station will include Hobby Lobby, located immediately adjacent to the grocer, and the franchise concept Another Broken Egg, situated at the end-cap of the space, west of Sprouts. An additional 8,400 square feet of shop space is available in this phase that is slated for completion in February. Construction is currently under way.
