COLUMBUS—The Georgetown Co., a New York-based developer and owner, has vast experience in the Columbus area, including helping develop the Easton Town Center, a retail center that attracts 30 million visitors a year. And it just launched yet another major project here, a new 24-acre office campus that will accommodate the planned expansion of Alliance Data Retail Services, a division of Dallas-based Alliance Data Corp.

The two new buildings will total 325,000-square-feet and provide office space for more than 1,500 Alliance employees beginning in 2016. Alliance currently employs more than 3,400 people in the metro area and company officials say they will hire an additional 700 employees during this multi-year expansion. The company will use the new campus, located just south of the present location at 4400 Easton Commons but still near the Easton Town Center and all of its amenities, to consolidate office space from the 4400 building and several others nearby. The campus will eventually have three buildings and 550,000-square-feet. The effort will not affect the customer service and billing operations currently located in Reynoldsburg, Westerville or Whitehall.

“Our long history in Columbus and at Easton continues with the building of this exciting office campus for Alliance Data Retail Services that will help grow the city's employment base with high-quality jobs,” says Jonathan Schmerin, managing principal of Georgetown. “We are so pleased to be constructing the buildings in partnership with ADS and are very grateful to the mayor and his staff, as well as the local community, for their ongoing support.”

“This new development marks an exciting time in the progress of our company,” says Melisa Miller, president of Alliance. “With this investment, we are committed to sustaining and growing our reputation as a great place to work, and we are pleased to be able to deliver a new and outstanding environment in which our associates can grow professionally and serve our brand partners.”

As reported in GlobeSt.com late last year, Georgetown, along with co-developers Steiner + Associates and Limited Brands, broke ground on Easton Gateway, a 54-acre addition to Easton Town Center. In addition to Columbus, Georgetown currently owns and is developing properties in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Washington DC.
