PHILADELPHIA, PA—Wallace Roberts & Todd senior associate Karen Blanchard has been elected a chapter director and architectural designer Jared Edgar McKnight has been elected associate director for the 2015 AIA Philadelphia Board of Directors.

Blanchard is a registered architect with more than 16 years of experience. She has been an active co-chair of the Philadelphia AIA's Women in Architecture Committee for the past two years. She is also a member of AIA Philadelphia's Urban Design Committee and was the 2010 AIA Philadelphia Young Architect award recipient, in addition to winning numerous AIA Philadelphia and AIA Pennsylvania design awards with WRT.

McKnight has been an active member of AIA Philadelphia since beginning his career. He was an active member of the American Institute of Architecture Students, including serving on the AIAS National Board of Directors as the Northeast Quad Director. Since entering the profession, he has been very active in AIA Philadelphia's Associate Committee, chairing the committee's largest event, CANstruction Philadelphia. In addition, McKnight received the AIA Philadelphia Volunteer of the Year Award, earlier this year, a great honor in recognition of his service to AIA Philadelphia.

Karen and Jared are great role models for the growing number of young professionals choosing to make Philadelphia their home,” says Joseph W. Healy, managing principal of WRT. “WRT is proud to see their individual leadership recognized by the AIA and we are committed to supporting them so they can continue to have a positive impact on the profession.”
