CHICAGO—Avison Young has been staffing up its Chicago office in the past six years, part of its recent expansion across the US. And the company just hired office leasing specialist Michael Hull, most recently a senior vice president at MB Real Estate in Chicago, as a principal. He spent five years at MBRE and will continue to specialize in office tenant representation.

“Mike will add valuable experience and depth to an already solid tenant representation platform here in our Chicago office,” says Nikitas. “Mike's practical knowledge of the world of both landlords and tenants has always made him a formidable advocate for all of his clients. He will focus on corporate services, but also be a strong source of new business development for Avison Young.”

Over the past six years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 62 offices and from 300 to more than 1,700 real estate professionals in Canada, the US and Europe. As reported in GlobeSt.com, it most recently expanded in Orlando, South Florida and Cleveland.

The company opened its first US office in Chicago in January 2009. Adding Hull will allow it to provide a wider range of services to both landlords and tenants in the downtown and suburban Chicago office markets, says Nikitas.

Hull brings more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. During his career, he has completed more than $3 billion in transactions. His clients have included AT&T, Komatsu, Motorola, United Airlines and USG.

In 2001, he founded the Mike Hull Co., a Chicago-based corporate services real estate firm. Before then, he led the leasing efforts in Chicago for Stein & Co., where he was responsible for such office landmarks as the AT&T Corporate Center, USG Building and 203 North LaSalle.

“The expanded platforms at Avison Young will afford my clients much greater access to services necessary to compete on a global basis,” says Hull. “At the same time, I will be able to draw from the knowledge, expertise and resources available from my new Avison Young colleagues and network of offices in the US, Canada, the UK and continental Europe.”
