LOS ANGELES—Commercial real estate and business law firm Gilchrist & Rutter has named Yen N. Hope as partner. Hope's clients include financial institutions, private equity funds, developers, individuals and major corporations.

“This promotion has given me the opportunity to contribute to the firm at a higher level by being more involved in partner-level decisions,” Hope tells GlobeSt.com. “On a personal level, I'm honored to be in a position to mentor other women and minority attorneys who may otherwise think that partnership at a law firm is unattainable.”

According to the firm's managing partner Jonathan Gross, Hope earned the promotion after making “significant contributions to the firm” and “demonstrating tremendous professional growth.” Her expertise includes obtaining traditional and administrative writs in mobile home park conversions and she has led litigation efforts involving construction defects, breach of contracts and employment wage class actions.

“I hope to continue representing the firm and my clients diligently and zealously, while looking for new opportunities to develop business and promote the firm,” says Hope about her goals as a partner for the firm. Hope has her JD from Harvard Law School and her BA in English from UCLA. She is a member of the California Bar Association as well as the Los Angeles Bar Association.

The law firm made headlines early last year when its namesake Paul Rutter rejoined the firm as of counsel. He is focusing on business and real estate transactions and advising clients on joint ventures, acquisitions, debt financing and both public market and private equity investments.
