Charlie Hebdo, and the follow on reaction, with the leaders of every major country, plus Israel and Abbas marching together, and the follow on sale of 5 million copies, was a massive show of support for freedom of expression. It was indicative of this administration that not even Holder, who was present right there in Paris, showed up. The White House sent Holder running to Ferguson and then three officials to the White House to attend the funeral of a thug who tried to kill a white cop, but they could not bring themselves to join the rest of the world to stand up for freedom in Paris. Holder ran to Ferguson, but he jumped on a plane and ran away from Paris. On Friday David Cameron made a very impassioned statement emphasizing the war we are all waging against Islamic terror. Obama stood next to him, using body language that said, I could not really care, and he refused to use the words Islamic terror. The point of all of this is starting with Obama and Holder, the message to academia has been, it is wrong to say anything that in any way can be imagined by Muslims or blacks to be “hurtful”. Free speech is now only permitted in tiny “free speech designated spaces” on campuses, and nothing “hurtful” can be spoken. Speeches by prominent people who are perceived by Muslims or blacks to not be agreeing with what these groups want to hear are barred from being speakers at commencement or other events. The president of Smith College is not even allowed to say “all lives matter” and apologized for making such a “hurtful” and “disrespectful” statement. That she thought she had to apologize is a glaring example of how the thought police are trying to control even the most inclusive and reasonable speech, and how fearful and intimidated even a college president has become. This is now at a point of blatant intimidation of free speech in America. The last time I read the constitution it said free speech is allowed anywhere in America. Not just in little corners of a campus. I was always taught that the whole point of a university education is the free exchange of ideas to allow students to make free choices of their beliefs. George Orwell would say I told you so, with what we are seeing now on American campuses. It is 1984 come to reality.

My point of all of this is the counter point of Charlie, and the outpouring of the non Muslim world in support of free speech, while the real terrorists and deniers of free speech are the administration and almost all of academia. While none of this has to do with real estate, it has everything to do with America, and what we stand for, and the constitution. In the name of political correctness gone berserk, Obama refuses to use the word Islamic alongside terror. Sun Tzu, the great warrior, said, first you must identify and know your enemy. If it is considered politically incorrect to say Islamic terror, and to state that we are at war with Islamic extremism, then we have lost.

We have a whole generation of college kids being brain washed to believe it is politically incorrect to say anything anyone does not like so long as the anyone is not heterosexual white male. One kid was even arrested by campus police for handing out copies of the constitution. Consider that –handing out the constitution is considered politically incorrect and prohibited. (The school lost the lawsuit on this ). A top quality man was put forward as a leading candidate for a top position in the DeBlasio administration, but he was told by DeBlasio staff that he could not be interviewed for the job because he was a white heterosexual male. This past week we had the extreme example of this political correctness gone to the extreme with Duke deciding that Muslim prayers would be broadcast over the chapel loudspeakers to the whole campus in the name of inclusiveness. Just imagine the uproar from Muslims if they had broadcast Jewish prayers on Saturday morning. Luckily the big donors put a stop to this outrageous display of political correctness.

We have an entire generation of future leaders being told you cannot disagree, you cannot have a non conforming view, you must think as it is dictated by the politically correct administration, and you will be suspended, or even expelled, if you do not comply. They don't shoot you as they did in Paris, but they instead screw you for life by suspending or expelling you. The difference is real, but the concept is the same. The terror threat is essentially the same. Conform or else. This week a German newspaper was firebombed for printing the cartoons from Charlie. Newsstands have been threatened in Brussels for selling the post terror Charlie papers. Muslim governments have made threats over the cartoons. Is this any different than forcing compliant speech on college campuses by threatening expulsion if you do not comply with the politically correct speech code dictated by the black and Muslim student groups?

I write this because after Paris and Belgium, and the behavior of Obama at the news conference Friday, I believe it is time for everyone to stand up for what we stand for in America, and my grave worry that Obama, Holder and the academic world are a real threat to what we are all about, or what we used to be all about-freedom. Politically correct speech and demanding multiculturalism (separatism), have created a dividing of America that is potentially going to extinguish the shining beacon America has always been to the rest of the world. We are great because we are a melting pot that excelled in assimilation and opportunity, and not a group of multicultural separate groups who require everyone else to conform their speech.
