LOS ANGELES—The CCIM Los Angeles Chapter has named its 2015 board of directors. Led by NAI Capital VP Kevin Kawaoka, who will serve as the 2015 CCIM L.A. president, the board of directors includes Sharon Carz, an associate broker at Income Property Specialists, who will serve as VP; Michael B. Marechal, president and managing broker at MRE Capital Partners, who will serve as secretary; Wolf Baschung, president for MW Real Estate Group, who will serve as treasurer; Carmela Ma, founder of CJM Associates, will serve as education committee chair; Howard Reback, principal at Reback Realty Services, who will serve as membership committee chair; and Jeff Albee, an SVP at Sperry Van Ness, who will serve as sponsorship committee chair.

“Each member of our team is a CCIM designee. Behind the CCIM designation are hours of cutting-edge education and rigorous exams through the CCIM curriculum,” Kawaoka tells GlobeSt.com. “With all of this dedicated knowledge, our team represents the best and brightest in the business. With diverse real estate specialties such as investment, office, retail, multi-family, and others, our team has all the bases covered.”

Kawaoka assures that this team will provide another stellar year, with events and improved five-day intensive courses. “We are excited and looking forward to incorporating some new thought provoking events this year,” he says. “We will be collaborating with top-notch real estate attorneys, wealth managers and energy efficiency agencies.” This is in addition to the national CCIM program, which just recently wrapped up its first major and newly formatted CCIM Thrive conference late last year. The Los Angeles Chapter of CCIM has 130 members.

This year, the intensive courses will include coverage of financial analysis for commercial real estate, market analysis and investment decision analysis. “The financial analysis 101 course is available for registration to the general public,” Kawaoka says. “Each course provides cutting-edge education with state-of-the-art technology. Many allied professionals and investors in commercial real estate invest time and money to attend.”
