IRVINE, CA—Rob Friedman, co-founder and chairman of Auction.com was selected as one of Swanepoel’s Power 200, a list featuring the most powerful and influential people in residential real estate. Friedman joins other prominent real estate leaders on the list including Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow; Richard Smith, chairman and CEO of Realogy Holdings Corporation; Dave Liniger, co-founder, chairman and CEO of RE/MAX; and Pete Flint, co-founder and CEO of Trulia. Featured on Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal and Forbes, this list of real estate leaders is broken down into five categories of executives, including corporate, brokerage, technology, organized real estate and thought leaders. “The SP200 serves to identify those leaders that impact and lead the residential real estate brokerage industry,” Rob Hahn, executive editor of the Swanepoel Power 200 said. “We acknowledge their enormous influence and contribution to our industry by detailing their role in improving the overall home buying transaction and the real estate business in particular.” Friedman was acknowledged for his extensive industry experience of more than 20 years and his work in developing Auction.com as co-founder, prompting Google Capital’s investment of $50 million into the company in early 2014. Recently, Auction.com announced the sale of the first commercial property purchased using its iPad app and released an iPhoneapp which buyers used to purchase 10 properties in the first 10 days after its release. Along with co-founder Jeff Frieden, Friedman started the company on the belief that bringing buyers and sellers together using an easy, transparent platform would yield the true value of any real estate asset. Now with over 900 employees, Auction.com has achieved success in the sale of all real estate types, including luxury homes, multi-story class A office buildings, shopping centers and high-value portfolios throughout the United States. “Auction.com was founded to harness technology to improve the way in which real estate is bought and sold, and has since yielded many benefits for both buyers and sellers alike,” said Friedman. “We want to continue to push the envelope in providing a seamless process in online real estate transactions. To be mentioned among other great leaders that are constantly driving the real estate industry forward as well is a great honor.” The full list of the Swanepoel’s Power 200 can be found on their website.
