NEW YORK CITY—Colliers International has named Kimberly Brennan as the new COO of New York/tri-state operations. The 21-year industry veteran is the first woman in the role. She replaces Joseph Caridi, who left the firm last year to become senior managing director at Cushman & Wakefield.

In her new role, Brennan will manage overall business operations, including P&L, business development, expanding market share, and providing leadership and strategic direction to the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut offices.

Prior to joining Colliers, Brennan was the highest-ranking female commercial real estate executive in New Jersey, serving as market leader for Cushman & Wakefield's New Jersey region, growing that operation over the last decade.

“Kim is an accomplished, focused brokerage executive with a keen ability to drive business, bring teams together for maximum efficiency, and provide senior, strategic leadership across a sophisticated platform,” says Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers International's eastern region. “She also has the enthusiasm, passion, and drive that helps bring out the best in others. We have ambitious plans for the New York/tri-state region, including expanding our market share and continuing to recruit top talent. Kim will be a huge part of that. We are fortunate to have her.”

GlobeSt.com soon will feature an interview with Brennan. Her hiring furthers ColliersInternational's efforts to hire and promote the best women and minority executives. The firm recently brought in Cynthia Foster as president, office services, and Linda Dow, vice chairman and executive managing director of the eastern region consulting group.

"I look forward to bringing my experience and expertise to Colliers, and working closely with Joe Harbert to further elevate the platform in this region,” adds Brennan. “Colliers is well positioned in the tri-state region and will be a premier player in this market moving forward.

“I also am pleased that Colliers puts great emphasis on promoting and supporting women and minority executives,” she continues. “There is great talent in this industry, with many other women and minority executives who would be eager to join this stellar organization."

Prior to her role with Cushman & Wakefield, Brennan was the director of brokerage services for the Midtown office of CB Richard Ellis (now CBRE). She had responsibility for sales management in the tri-state area.
