NEW YORK CITY—Walker & Dunlop has brought on Thomas Toland as SVP of multifamily finance. Previously a VP at Berkadia, Toland will be based here. Walker & Dunlop is based in Bethesda, MD.

At Berkadia, he financed $1 billion of commercial real estate debt and equity transactions and $750 million in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae multifamily transactions. Previously, Toland served as general counsel and one of the original shareholders during the foundation of Spring Bank here, where he supervised all legal issues for the bank development group. Earlier in his career, Toland served as an attorney for Haynes and Boone.

EVP and chief production officer Don King says, "Tom brings 14 years of experience and extensive knowledge of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to the Company and will serve as a valuable asset to the multifamily finance team.
