Mayor Talks Sports Team Importance to City

SAN DIEGO—GlobeSt.com was in attendance yesterday with NAIOP and Mayor Kevin Faulconer at the Marriot San Diego Del Mar, where he discussed the importance of job creation and overhauling the development permit process among other things.

SAN DIEGO—“Keeping the Chargers in San Diego is damn important I think.” So said Mayor Kevin Faulconer yesterday at the NAIOP luncheon at the Marriot San Diego Del Mar.

It was no surprise the Mayor started off his speech by mentioning the elephant in the room just one week before he celebrates one year on the job. As of press time, while the Mayor didn’t detail any plans of attack, he noted that his advisory committee will speed up its work and present a stadium plan to the team within three months that could keep it from moving to the Los Angeles area.
