WAILEA, HI—California-based developer R.D. Olson has been issued a building permit and is poised to begin construction work on a 200-room, Residence Inn by Marriott in Wailea, on the south-east coast of Maui.

Pacific Business News, says Maui County issued the building permit, according to public records, and that the property is currently owned by Piilani Hotels LLC, which has the same mailing address as Olson Real Estate Group Inc. in Irvine, CA. Olson Development, has developed a Courtyard by Marriott near Kahului Airport and has plans for a Marriott Residence Inn in Kapolei.
