AUSTIN—Dallas-based Inland American Communities Group Inc. (IAC), the development, acquisition and management company that recently changed its name to University House Communities (UHC), has five new properties under construction across the country, including one near The University of Texas at Austin.

“It was evident to us that the demand for high-quality, high-service, high-rise living by today's University of Texas students would be met with our development, University House Austin,” David Pierce, senior vice president of development – UHC, told GlobeSt.com.

According to Pierce, for more than 40 years, the site was the location of the University Lutheran Student Center, located at 2100 San Antonio St., one block west of campus.
