LOS ANGELES—CBRE has promoted Mike Scimo and Henry Johnson to vice chairman in the global corporate services group, the highest position in their field. In this role, Scimo and Johnson will lead one of the largest global corporate services groups in the world, and will represent Fortune 500 companies.

“I previously felt we had aggressive short and long-term goals for our business, however, this new position brings with it even greater optimism regarding the potential heights our teammates and clients can achieve by working together as partners, collaborators and innovators,” Scimo tells GlobeSt.com. “The bar has definitely been raised. That said, we will maintain the same day-to-day focus and determination to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients which has put us in the position we are today.” Johnson adds, “In our corporate services segment, the moment a client feels their service provider is not acting in a fiduciary capacity, they're in trouble. Before making a recommendation to a client on a key project, Mike and I will always do a reality check to make sure the recommended action is in the client's best interests, short term and long-term. The ideal situation for us is a great outcome for the client in which he/she gets great recognition internally.”

Scimo and Johnson formed their business partnership in 2003 as long-time principals at Trammell Crow Co., where they collectively partnered with 1,000 domestic and international real estate professionals to optimize the client's real estate holdings. The duo came to CBRE in 2007, when CBRE acquired Trammell Crow, and quickly established themselves as leaders in their fields—which was largely due to their understanding of the environment. “Corporate users today are looking for the best economics available, of course, but more importantly is flexibility,” says Johnson. “We strive to get the best economic terms possible by leveraging our clients' strong credit rating and length of lease term, while also building in flexibility to downsize, expand or terminate.”

Scimo and Johnson will lead account managers, regional portfolio advisors, transaction managers, strategic consultants, transaction coordinators, project managers, lease administrators and support staff around the globe, and will continue to focus exclusively on Fortune 500 companies. “Market cycles come and go, and although short-term objectives may vary among our corporate clients, the long term objectives remain the same: take cost and risk out of the global real estate footprint while increasing the flexibility to expand and contract as demand for space fluctuates,” says Scimo. “Simultaneously, will we adapt and improve the workplace itself to meet the evolving needs of both the business and the workforce.”

The firm also recently expanded its occupier advisory and transactions services group, hiring two former Cushman & Wakefield occupier advisory professionals: Lynn Williams, who joins the firm as vice chairman, and Jeffrey Welch, who joins the firm as EVP.
