SAN DIEGO—Westcore Properties has expanded its professional team by adding two new employees to its workforce and promoting two team members within the company.

Previously serving as managing director of operations, Matthew Bateman is now the firm's chief operating officer. As COO, Bateman manages the company's leasing, asset management and property management teams. Since joining the team in 2004, Bateman has been involved in more than $2 billion in transaction volume. Prior to joining Westcore, Bateman served as a commercial broker with Grubb & Ellis in West Los Angeles. He received his MBA with an emphasis in entrepreneurial management and strategy from the University of Southern California.

Leading the financial division of Westcore Properties, Michael Helms becomes the company's vice president of finance after serving as director of financial planning and analysis since 2013. Helms' role as vice president of finance will include developing the company's business and financial strategy, as well as managing Westcore Properties' acquisitions and dispositions activities. For the past two years, Helms has been involved in more than $750 million in transaction volume. Prior to Westcore, Helms was an advisor in global finance for DJO Global and he received his bachelor's degree in finance from Virginia Tech.
