SAN FRANCISCO—David Egdal joins Shartsis Friese LLP as of counsel in the real estate group from a previous position with Gibson Dunn in San Francisco. Egdal focuses his practice on institutional and non-institutional lenders, borrowers and investors in all areas of real estate.

Egdal tells GlobeSt.com: "I enjoy the challenge of helping lenders, borrowers, investors and sponsors navigate complex transactions and get to the finish line. I'm practical and results-oriented, and find this a good fit for current market conditions that require quick analysis and fast execution.”

Some of Egdal's core business focus includes forming and representing limited liability companies as well as other joint ventures; mortgage, mezzanine and repurchase financing; and acquisitions and dispositions of hotel, multifamily, vineyard and other commercial properties.

“David is a superb lawyer and an important addition to the long-term strength of our practice group and the firm,” said David Kremer, head of Shartsis' real estate practice.

With the addition of Egdal, the Shartsis Friese real estate group now has 12 lawyers. The firm's real estate clients include leading Bay Area companies such as Oracle, Adobe and Netflix, as well as prominent institutional real estate investors such as Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, UBS Realty Investors and Divco West Realty Services, and developers such as Emerald Fund and Wareham Development. Shartsis Friese also represents social media and internet companies in San Francisco such as Twitter, Yammer and Dropbox.

“It's very exciting for me to join the real estate group at Shartsis Friese, which provides a top tier and efficient platform for executing a full range of real property transactions. Feedback from clients about my move has been very positive," Egdal says in his GlobeSt.com interview wrap up.
