LOS ANGELES—Tribune Media, parent company of the television station KTLA, has renewed its lease at Hudson Pacific Properties' Sunset Bronson Studios in Hollywood. KTLA signed up for another 15 years in its 94,205-square-foot office space in the building, which houses the station's headquarter office and stages. Its headquarters have been at the property for the past 60 years.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with KTLA,” Victor Coleman chairman and CEO, Hudson Pacific Properties, tells GlobeSt.com. “The network has been a fixture at Sunset Bronson Studios for close to 60 years, and will benefit from the many improvements Hudson has underway to transform the lot into a premier next-generation, creative campus.” Blake Mirkin of CBRE represented Hudson in the transaction, while Todd Doney, Paul Stockerll and Adam Seltzer of CBRE represented Tribune Media.

Those renovations helped attract KTLA to continue its longstanding run in the space. Hudson will be adding structural and technology upgrades throughout the space to create a state-of-the-art creative campus to the tune of $150 million. Hudson is hoping these renovations will attract other similar tenants to the property, including technology, media and entertainment companies. Hudson is bullish on the power of creative office. It recently launched development of ICON, a 323,000-square-foot state-of-the-art, creative office tower and 90,000-square-foot production facility. The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The property sits on a 10.6-acre lot in the heart of Hollywood. It has 144,084 square feet of sound stage facilities, 169,638 square feet of office space and, currently under construction, a 1,600-stall parking lot. Hudson has owned the property, which was originally built in the 1920s, for seven years.
