Founded in 2005, the trust established its independence from the Inland group of companies on December 31, 2014 and its officials say the name switch was a necessary step in this transition.

The logo consists of two interfacing half circles and symbolizes the energy, collaboration, forward motion and InvenTrust's strong connections to its retailers. As of December 31, the retail portfolio, including joint venture properties, consists of 125 open air centers in 24 states, with over 18 million square feet of space.
