NEW YORK CITY—SL Green Realty Corp. has signed two new, long-term office leases for more than 390,000 square feet.
Bloomberg LP, the information network, signed a 15-year lease covering 254,556 square feet for eight floors at 919 Third Ave., the 47-story 1.5 million-square-foot property located between East 55th and 56th streets.
Meanwhile, WeWork, the provider of shared workspace, signed a 15-year lease covering 136,118 square feet, comprising all nine floors at 315 W. 36th St.
"Each of these transactions required extensive work with multiple tenants to create the blocks of space," says Steven Durels, EVP, director of leasing and real property for SL Green. "These new leases are a testament to the continued strength of Midtown's office leasing market."
Peter Turchin, Gregg Rothkin, James Ackerson and Edward Goldman of CBRE represented the landlord at 919 Third Ave. Hayes Realty Services represented WeWork at 315 W. 36th St. while SL Green handled the transaction in-house on behalf of the building's joint-venture ownership.
A CBRE representative did not return GlobeSt.com's call seeking comment by press time.
